In his closing speech to this year's party conference in Bournemouth, Liberal Democrat Leader Rt Hon Charles Kennedy MP said:

"It's fortunate that we've had a conference at all this week. Not just fortunate for Liberal Democrats. But fortunate for everybody here, who's involved in the democratic process."
