New Thameslink station at St Pancras long overdue - Brake

6.36.00pm UTC (GMT +0000) Wed 8th Feb 2006

Commenting on the announcement that the Thameslink station at St Pancras is to be refurbished, Liberal Democrat Shadow Transport Secretary, Tom Brake MP said:

"The announcement of the new Thameslink Station at St Pancras is welcome and better late than never. Finally the Transport Secretary Alistair Darling has seen sense woken up.

"Given the arrival of the Eurostar next year, the need for a new Thameslink station at St Pancras was obvious. By delaying his decision as long as he has the Transport Secretary has simply wasted taxpayers' money."
