Bedford Middle School Campaign Success

3.48.16pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 19th Jun 2007

Abbey and Woodside Middle schools have been assured by the County Council that "no further action" will now be taken over the issue of surplus places. In both cases the Council has agreed that the schools are expected to grow over the coming years.

Michael Headley has been active in the campaign and is a parent of children at Woodside school. He said:

"It is great that both these schools can now get on with continuing to grow and prosper. The Tory County Councillors made a mistake in even starting this process up. If they had done their homework right in the first place they would have known that these schools are needed by their local communities. There was absolutely no need for this distraction."
