Cllr Charles Royden with Tyne Crescent Bollards

Coun Charles Royden is calling on Bedford Borough Council and Bedfordshire County Council to join forces to support his complaint against EDF to Energywatch.

Roads and pavements in Brickhill have been left unfinished and in a dangerous state due to the failure of electricity company EDF to complete essential works to services.

Contractors can't finish their resurfacing because of long outstanding works which are the responsibility of EDF. Now Liberal Democrat Borough Councillor for Brickhill Charles Royden is calling on Bedford Borough Council and Bedfordshire County Council to join forces to support his complaint against EDF to Energywatch.

Coun Charles Royden said, "In Brickhill we have problems with broken lights, roads and pavements. Bollards on the roundabout on Avon Drive have been unlit at night while Tyne Crescent and Westrope Way have been left half finished and in a state of disrepair for months. We are advised that it is EDF who are the cause of delays. Councils have a duty to hold EDF to account for this dreadful performance which is once again putting lives at risk in Brickhill. That is why I am seeking their support in reporting EDF to Energywatch".
