The Stop the Incinerator campaign website www.aburningissue.org.uk is now live

The website for the campaign to stop a proposed giant waste incinerator near Stewartby is now live, giving you the chance to have your say at www.aburningissue.org.uk

In addition to the Tory County Council's proposal for a giant rubbish-burner, which recently progressed to the next stage with the submission of a business case to the government, a further bid for an incinerator to be built at Rookery South Pit near Stewartby has emerged. This plan has come from a private waste management company, and involves a facility three times the size of the County Council's proposal. It would also involve importing waste from across Buckinghamshire.

The campaign against a giant incinerator near Stewartby is therefore more urgent than ever.

Local Liberal Democrats want to see mechanical and biological processes that maximise recycling used, instead of the environmentally-damaging approach of throwing unsorted waste into a furnace.
